SMLeo is a woman-owned business operated by Sydney Leonard. Sydney is a Massachusetts-born multidisciplinary artist, currently practicing in Lowell, Massachusetts. Leonard uses traditional quilt piecing methods, embroidery, and printmaking techniques to celebrate the lineage of fiber craft and to create a nostalgic bridge between the past and present. Sydney’s quilts, garments and prints bring a love, care, and delicacy to everyday life. Each object created by Sydney is adorned with hand detailing- her objective is to craft modern heirlooms that may be adored for decades to come.

In May 2015, Sydney was awarded the Susan Lordi Marker Excellence in Fiber Arts, and received her BFA from Kansas City Art Institute in May 2017. In January 2020, Leonard became a Resident Artist at Western Avenue Studios and Lofts, where she continues her artistic practice.
